About Me

Hello, I am Maja (pronounced Maya) and welcome to my little corner of the internet universe, my Beehive.
I am a daughter, wife, and mother of two (little ones) respectively. They are the center of my being. All else is second.
I am a foodie, a stay-at-home mom, and my husband will tell you that I am a TV addict. I am obsessed with (other people's) DIYs – mine don't always turn out so great but I keep on trying! So if the TV is on it is most likely tuned to HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network... well, you get the gist. Nicole Curtis is my hero!  I am a big believer in 'reduce, reuse and recycle' whenever possible.  I love to cook and bake. I love crafts and coloring with my daughter, and I love to make jewelry.
Earlier this year I gave up dairy and am limiting my son's dairy intake as much as possible. Let's just say that I am 99% dairy free- I don't like dark chocolate, I've tried it numerous times, and milk chocolate I just cannot give up. My husband and daughter, however, are not on that same bandwagon, and that is ok. (More on that later)
Altogether since this past spring I have been doing a lot of reading and learning about food and health. It all started with the Fooducate app, which led to me focusing on preservative free foods, which in turn led me to the Food Babe and integrating more organics and non-GMOs into mine and my family's daily diet.
At this point I am learning and exploring all the different food lifestyles. I don't like to call them diets as the term no longer carries it's original meaning: the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats. I am exploring all of them: vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, paleo etc.
So join me in my trials and tribulations of living a dairy free lifestyle, exploring all the different food options as well as the adventures of being a parent, of messing up my DIYs and in general in my overall aim at a healthier and happier life.
Plus I'll make some jewelry for you along the way :)
I hope you come along for the ride,
Sincerely,
M.
